Independent Living Program (ILP)

The ILP provides minimal supports to individuals with developmental disabilities who live in the community.  Residents pay their living costs and a monthly supervision fee.  Staff teach independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and leisure skills.  Residents work in community jobs, the enclaves or at Sunshine Industries.  Referrals come from the community or from other Sunshine Service programs.

Beta Homes

Beta Homes serve a coed group of adults who have a dual diagnosis of developmental disabilities and/or mental illness.  Training by staff promotes personal growth and development for residents who require consistent structure and supervision.  Residents generally work at Sunshine Industries or participate in the “Sunsetters” Retirement Program.  The program is funded in part through a grant from the Tennessee Department of Mental Heath and Developmental Disabilities.
